Ben Kingsley and Catherine Keener star in this taut drama that paints a vivid picture of post traumatic stress disorder. After terrifying experiences in Libya, war photographer Lee (Keener) retreats to a hotel in Sicily. Far from the chaos of her hometown New York, she prefers to deal with her demons in solitude. Her constant confrontations with the hotel staff, relentless smoking and her apathy towards the endless telephone calls reveal the storm brewing beneath the surface. Haunted by nightmares, Lee wanders the streets of Sicily, camera in hand, capturing images of the refugees. Here, she runs into a young woman Hafsia, who’s experiencing a dilemma of her own. In attempting to resolve Hafsia’s crisis, Lee’s personal agony begins to fade. War Story is an edge of the seat tale that urges you to piece together Lee’s elusive story and get comfortable with the disquieting condition of not knowing.
