Cinetopia Film Festival is proud to host the Michigan premiere of SYMPHONY IN D, the cinematic account of Pulitzer Prize-nominated composer TOD MACHOVER and the DETROIT SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA’s attempt to “show the world what Detroit sounds like,” on Saturday, June 10 at 8:00 PM in the Detroit Film Theatre in the Detroit Institute of Arts. The project, which began as a commission by the Knight Foundation, brought together more than 15,000 individual contributions of music and sound to capture the personalities, locations, artists, and even machines of Detroit.

Director DENNIS SCHOLL and special guests will be on hand to take part in the evening’s events, which include a post-screening Q&A as well as a red carpet gala welcome in the Crystal Gallery above the DFT at 6:30 PM. The gala is open to all Festival pass holders, as well as filmmakers, sponsors, and other invited guests.
