Mission
Our Mission
Cinetopia promotes a love of cinema arts in our community through exhibition and education by bringing celebrated films from around the world to Ann Arbor and the Metro and downtown Detroit area.
As part of the Michigan Theater Foundation, Cinetopia Film Festival is a nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) status.
Cinetopia means…
the best films from the world’s best festivals, including Sundance, Cannes, Toronto, SXSW, Berlin, Tokyo, and Tribeca.
Award-winning and buzz-building feature-length dramas, comedies, and documentaries.
interactive panel discussions and Q&A sessions with directors, stars, and writers, to deliver more with every film.
Detroit Voices
Cinetopia is proud to present the Detroit Voices Short Film Competition for aspiring Michigan filmmakers.
As the only submission-based program of the festival, Detroit Voices provides local filmmakers with the opportunity to showcase their short films to a Michigan audience, compete for cash awards totaling $6,000, and participate in networking and educational opportunities leading up to and during the festival.
The competition is open to Michigan filmmakers of all ages.
Sponsor support makes Cinetopia Film Festival happen each year.
Cinetopia spans the greater Detroit Metropolitan area, from downtown Detroit to Ann Arbor.
We offer six different pass options so you can make the most out of your festival experience at the price that makes sense for you.
