The clocks go forward this weekend, which means that spring is finally on the horizon. It also means that preparations for Cinetopia 2019 are in full swing as we get closer and closer to May 10th. Excitement is building here at Cinetopia HQ, with the film lineup being finalized and the finishing touches being put to the many parties that will take place over the course of the festival.
You might be thinking, what’s new this year? What’s different? Will there be movies at the Wright Museum again, and what about student passes? At the end of last year’s festival, we asked previous attendees to help us improve the experience even further, and we’ve incorporated some of that feedback into this year’s festival.
We’ve introduced a new VIP Pass to offer exclusive first entry to all screenings, so you can be sure to get your favorite seats at every film. Also included is access to all events and parties across the festival, admittance to the Filmmaker’s Lounge where you can rub elbows with the behind-the-scenes talent, and free concessions at select venues. For just $250 with early bird pricing (only through March 15th!), the VIP pass offers the best value for those looking to experience the full scope of Cinetopia, across ten days, multiple locations throughout southeast Michigan, and over 50 award-winning films.
If you just want to see all the films, and attend all the parties, then the Festival Pass is for you. Priority admission to any scheduled film, plus access to every event and party (at least 4), makes the Festival Pass an extremely good value at $150.
If all you want is to see movies, movies, movies, then, you’ll want to go for the All-Movie Pass. This does exactly what it says: priority access to all scheduled Cinetopia films across all venues over ten days. At $125, it’s a bargain.
But what if you can only make one weekend, and don’t want to pay for a week-long pass? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. New for 2019, the Weekend Passes allow priority access to all films across the first or second weekend, including admission to the opening or closing party. Spend a weekend taking in as many films as you can manage, and top it off with a Cinetopia party.
And if you’re a student, you can get the All-Movie pass for just $50. Whether you’re a high school student, a senior at Wayne State, or taking a few classes at Washtenaw Community College while you enjoy your retirement, as long as you have a valid student ID (and can pick up your pass in person), you qualify for the best deal of all.
Don’t forget, early bird pricing goes through Friday, March 15th. Buy your passes today!
Tickets and 4-Packs
Can’t commit to a pass? Don’t know what your plans will be that week? If you know you can only make a few films over the course of the festival, or want to treat a friend, you can buy a 4-pack of tickets online or over the phone.
4-packs and advanced single tickets will be available to purchase for members on April 10 and April 12 for the general public. You can buy them online at cinetopiafestival.org or by phone at 734-668-8397 extension 35.
Our goal is to make Cinetopia 2019 the best film festival experience for the widest audience possible, which is why we’ve tried to accommodate a varying selection of pass and ticket options. We want you to experience Cinetopia your way, to connect with southeast Michigan’s vibrant film community, and to view the very best films from the world’s best film festivals.
We can’t wait to see you at Cinetopia 2019!
