This charming fantasy film is about Bastian, a troubled boy who decides to play hooky and discovers a book called “The Neverending Story” when he walks into a strange bookstore. As he reads the book, becomes so consumed in the unfolding tale that he finds himself catapulted into the land of Fantasia himself. A child-like empress dispatches a young warrior named Atreju to find a cure for a plague called The Nothing, generated by blighted dreams and hopeless fantasies. Atreju realizes that the only way to save the land from its blight is with the help of this strange earth boy, Bastian.
